About the Speakers:

K. R. Sekar: K.R. Sekar leads the Deloitte Private practice for Deloitte India. Sekar has a strong experience of advising companies throughout their business life cycle. His experience lies in working with clients in the high growth sectors and emerging markets on their business strategy and tax advisory. In his previous role, Sekar led the Global Business Tax practice for Deloitte India. Over the last 30 years, Sekar has worked with a niche portfolio of clients on corporate and international taxation, inbound structuring, and controversy management. He is associated with many landmark litigation cases for global companies.

In addition to advising clients, Sekar is active in representing before the Government on various tax issues impacting the industry through his positions in Chambers of Commerce. He is also a prolific writer, contributing regularly to tax journals and mainline papers. He has authored many books including Transfer Pricing Law & Practice, Taxation of Merger, De-merger & Foreign Collaboration and Landmark Judgements of Supreme Court on Direct Tax Laws: An Analysis. ...

Sekar is the Vice President of Bangalore Chamber of Industry & Commerce, is a Member of the India Board of International Fiscal Association, and also works closely with other chambers including NASSCOM. He is the founder-director of the International Tax Research and Analysis Foundation (ITRAF) a dedicated research body in the field of International Tax.

F.R. Singhvi : F. R. Singhvi is the Joint Managing Director of Sansera Engineering Ltd, an Engineering company manufacturing precision machined and forged components for Auto and Aerospace sector having its operations across India and Sweden. It is a major global player in its niche products namely Connecting Rods, Crank Shafts and Rocker Arms.

F. R. Singhvi is currently the chairman of Pillar 3 of ACMA overseeing the activities of ACT, ASDC, HR, YBLF. Singhvi is an All India Rank holder in both the Intermediate and Final Examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He was one of the founder partner of M/s. Singhvi, Dev & Unni.

F. R. Singhvi is a founder member of M/s Mulder India Pvt. Ltd., a world-class unit for manufacture of ceramic Decals and Director in M/s Exdion a KPO company.

On the social activity front Singhvi manages Sansera Foundation which is involved in improving the lives of over 5000 children studying in 28 government schools. Improving Environment by way of lake development and tree planting. Singhvi is managing an Artificial Limb Centre’s for Karnataka Marwari Youth Federation since 1982, having fitted over 50000 limbs and calipers free of cost. Singhvi is a member of the working group in running a 30 bed D R Ranka - KMYF Dialysis Centre for economically weaker section in Bengaluru, which provides the dialysis facility for the needy people at highly subsidized rates. He is advisor to Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, a Charitable Hospital.

F. R. Singhvi as member of Rotary is involved in a project called MAANSI recognized by WHO in providing treatment to the depressed women in over 200 villages in rural Bangalore and is expected to be launched in different parts of the world very soon.

Ravi Gururaj : Ravi Gururaj is Founder & CEO of QikPod.com, where he is building innovative last mile logistics solutions for the eCommerce industry. As a technology entrepreneur he previously founded 5 startups ventures, two of which exited to public NASDAQ companies.

Ravi is the current President of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) Bangalore, serves on the Indian Venture Capital Association VC council, is Chief Mentor at Reliance Industries GenNext program, serves on the Startup Councils of the Govt. of Karnataka and CII, Co-Chair of the Penn & Wharton Club of Bangalore and HBS Alumni Angels India chapter and served for three terms on the NASSCOM Executive Council.

Ravi received his MBA with high distinction as a Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School. He graduated with honors as Benjamin Franklin Scholar from the University of Pennsylvania in the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology receiving a B.S.E. in Computer Science & Engineering from the Moore School and a B.Sc. in Finance from the Wharton School. He was also an exchange research scholar at the University of Edinburgh and schooled at La Martiniere for Boys in Kolkata.
